About Us

A Brief History

The Holy Family school of Nursing – Koderma is situated in the district of Koderma in a village called Chechai. This institution is the unit of Holy Family Hospital- Koderma run by the Franciscan Clarist Congregation (FCC) of Maria Mata Province, Hazaribag. Hospital instituted in the year 1955 by American Medical Mission Sisters as outpatient clinic, and it is handed over to us in the year 1968 with 25 bedded hospital, At present it is expanded to 150 bedded hospital and registered under the Society Registration Act XXI of 1860.

Hospital renders it’s service to all categories of people without any discrimination of any caste, creed, rich or poor. Hospital aims at wholesome healing of the person especially women and children through medical, surgical care, nursing care, spiritual guidance and counseling.

The Holy Family school of Nursing – Koderma extension of Holy Family Hospital began the ANM Course in the year 2009 with the approval of state Jharkhand and Indian Nursing Council – Delhi with the intake of 20 students. We fondly remember late Rt. Rev. Bishop Charles Soren bishop of Hazaribag diocese who extended the hands to help us begin this school.
